What the DPD integration is for

DPD is a connection you activate with your own DPD contract. Here's what it solves:

You already have a DPD contract, but no direct link to your warehouse

Connect your own DPD account (customer number and password) and create labels straight from your pack flow, no separate DPD portal.

DPD returns still need to be arranged separately

Tremo creates the DPD return label with a reversed address: the customer as sender, your warehouse or return address as recipient.

Shipping an over-limit parcel gets rejected after the fact

Tremo checks the weight against DPD's own limits upfront (31.5 kg for a normal parcel, 1 kg for ParcelLetter), so you never pay for a failed request.

A hiccup during labelling shouldn't cost a duplicate label

An idempotency guard with an in-flight marker makes sure a second call on the same shipment never buys a second, paid label.

Directly through the DPD REST connection, with your own contract.

One POST, one label
The DPD Shipment Service creates the shipment and the label in a single call. No separate retrieval step.
Three product variants
DPD Business for B2B, DPD Home for B2C and DPD ParcelLetter for mailbox parcels. Choose the variant per shipping profile.
Return labels with reversed address
Customer as sender, warehouse or return address as recipient. The tracking code is recorded on the return file for scan-on-arrival.
Automatic weight check
Tremo weighs the shipment against DPD's own limits before the request goes out: 31.5 kg for a normal parcel, 1 kg for ParcelLetter.
Automatic printing
The label goes to your connected pack station, with an A4 fallback if no pack-station printer is set.
Its own session token management
Tremo watches DPD's daily limit of ten login attempts itself, so labels keep flowing without you having to step in.

Frequently asked questions

What you'll want to know before connecting your own DPD account.

Do I need a DPD contract already?+

Yes. The connection uses your own DPD customer number and password. Without an active DPD NL contract you can't create labels.

Has this been tested in production with other customers?+

Not yet. The connection is built to DPD's documentation but not yet verified against a live DPD account. You connect your own account and test the first labels yourself.

Can I cancel a DPD shipment?+

No, that isn't built. If you make a mistake, create a new label instead.

Can my customer choose a DPD pickup point?+

No, pickup-point delivery (ParcelShop) is deliberately not wired in. That needs a store picker in checkout that doesn't exist yet.

Does my customer get a tracking link?+

Not automatically yet. There's no confirmed public DPD tracking URL format, so we don't build one ourselves. The tracking number is on the shipment though.
